A different view

Putting aside all of the political manoeuvring and point scoring, my purpose this week is to get you to think QUITE DIFFERENTLY about this issue.

Why? Well, what our elected representatives do (or don’t do) does affect our personal and business lives.

Yet, having said that, in all this talk of Economic Stimulus Packages I have not heard any mainstream commentators talk about God’s Economic Stimulus Package.

Paul, what do you mean? God’s Economic Stimulus Package? What has God got to do with business and economic stimulus?

Hmmmm …well stay with me, you may find this précis of an article written by Jesse Duplantis quite eye opening.

You see, God’s plan for prosperity seems to be one of the most misunderstood and controversial subjects inside (and out) of the church. Yet, did you know that God designed an economic stimulus plan to promote - wait for it - a stress free and abundant lifestyle for His people to enjoy.

[My observation is a lot of people are looking for a stress free and abundant lifestyle but aren’t finding it!]

So many people are hurting financially when the provision and plan have already been put in place. Why is this so? It’s because we are all not on the same page. We have a lot of religious ideas that do us no good.

You see “religion” comes from a genetically altered Bible. It’s like eating margarine instead of butter or drinking a sugar substitute instead of the real thing!  They get so used to it that when they hear the truth, they reject it and say, “That’s not right.”

People have heard a watered down genetically altered gospel message so long they reject the real deal, and the substitute is killing them.

When healthy food is eaten, it will produce a healthy body. When the unaltered gospel is spoken it will produce healthy believing.
You see, God’s plan for blessing His people is a simple plan that has been genetically altered by religion. The Bible says, “He that sows sparingly will also reap sparingly; and he that sows bountifully shall reap bountifully.” (2 Corinthians 9:6)

Notice there is no mention of faith, or having to believe for the kind of harvest that will be produced.

It is simply talking about an action that causes a reaction. It simply has to do with sowing and reaping.

[By this point if you are really thinking about this, take off your religious glasses, your mouth should be open wide!]

Now don’t go and get confused and think that “sparingly” means a small portion. You can read the story of the widow’s mite and see how she gave an amount that was monetarily insignificant. but it was viewed very differently by God. (See Mark 12)

You see the bottom line here is God is interested in you, and your business succeeding.

Maybe that’s a new, strange or unusual thought for you. Yet it’s true.

Right from the very beginning God said, “Be fruitful (always producing), and multiply (always increasing) and “subdue” (always in control of your environment).

[But Paul, I hear you say, there’s stuff happening all around me that I cannot control - and I hear that. Yet here’s a key, God is bigger than the stuff you can’t control.]

When your environment starts to control you, you are walking outside of THE BLESSING of God.

What do you mean THE BLESSING?

Well, in short, THE BLESSING is living to GIVE.

Working by the sweat of your brow is under the curse. Does that mean you’re not to work a job? No, of course not. It means you’re supposed to “work your money” or “make your money work for you”.

Yet when you are working for a living, you’re beating your brains out trying to make ends meet. But no matter what you do it does not work, because you’re working under the curse.

What curse? That’s a whole other story. (Go and read about it in Genesis Chapter 3; and Galatians 3:13.29.)

For many reading this, you may be thinking I always knew that Paul was a bit strange, now this just confirms it.

Well I know for many of you this will be one of the most challenging articles I have written because it will confront you on so many levels, for example, that there is even a God and that He is personally interested in you and your business success.

I can’t quarantine off into a non-business silo that which I know to be true.

Like the CEOs of larger corporations or savvy investors that have their money work for them, you need to do the same.

So, if you are challenged around this whole area of God’s Economic Stimulus Package, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Finally, a thought to leave you with. Much of our world makes jokes about the wealth of the Jewish people. The reason they are wealthy is that they apply biblical economic principles to their advantage. After all,  if you were going to find out how to run a piece of machinery for your business, optimally you would be wise to follow the instructions of the manufacturer. So it is with God. He established the place in the beginning to run by certain immutable laws, physical and financial, and we are wise to find out what they are and live by them or, dare I say it, foolhardy if we do not.
