Seeing Stars for the Month of July 2010

NEW MOON at 19 CANCER 24 12 JULY 2010 at 5:40am AEST

CANCER
New Moon/Solar Eclipse in your sign on the 12th is a powerful time of the year to initiate new beginnings or directions for the cautious, shell encrusted crabs. Without goals, dreams or a strong target to head towards, life can be likened to a ship without a rudder tossed relentlessly by the waves of time with no clear outline. Use this opportunity to consciously create and become a participant instead of an observer in life. (Note: June’s Full moon /eclipse was in your polar opposite sign not Cancer. Apologies astrologer suffering astrological dyslexia.)

LEO
Pressure and stress can sometimes prompt us to take out frustrations on those close particularly with work colleagues or family and afterwards may feel shame or remorse. A full Moon on the 26th highlights the relationship area in your horoscope helping illuminate some patterning of behaviour that is best let go of. This self-awareness enables you to modify and change your responses more suited to the noble Lion.

VIRGO
Mercury, the communicator, moves into the fiery Leo on the 10th where emotionally-based decisions are left behind and bolder and original ideas are sought. Venus also enters Virgo on the 10th so issues around health and diet may take on importance. If this is so it is a good time to implement an exercise program that suits your time and needs and fits into your lifestyle. Perhaps it could be a matter of making the time.

LIBRA
Matters of the heart are less spontaneous and impulsive after the 10th when the goddess moves into the more pragmatic Virgo where she stays for the next month. Here the pros and cons are carefully considered and weighed on their merits giving us time to assess and appraise our relationships and our handling of personal affairs. The challenge is not to become so critical that no-one and nothing fits the bill.

SCORPIO
This may be a challenging month for Scorpios as Pluto, planet-representing death and rebirth continues to align with the current Jupiter/Uranus conjunction and also Saturn. On the one hand we have the need to seize the opportunity for change being hindered by the inability to let go of the past filtered through the dwarf planet Pluto who recognises yet fights the need for transformation. Identifying the need for a fresh start.

SAGITTARIUS
Opportunistic Jupiter begins its once a year retrograde movement on the 23rd and with the exact square of Pluto we are urged to seek out the underlying truths concerning self-mastery. Others may have a greater awareness of who you are than you do so use this time to reflect on who you are and what you need to master them - it is a matter of developing those talents and how to capitalise on them.

CAPRICORN
On the 27th we have Saturn making its 5th and final opposition to Uranus, an aspect that began in November 2008. These long-range aspects give us plenty of time to acknowledge and assimilate needed changes in our lives. Spanning your solar 4th and 10th houses there is the reminder that crops do not grow on barren soil so it would be wise to recognise the need of nurturing and maintaining a secure foundation before shooting for the stars.

AQUARIUS
Uranus, the planet representing innovation and change turns retrograde on the 5th slowly moving backwards through the first degree of Aries before entering Pisces again in mid August. Although you may not at first act on it you are becoming more aware of new ideas, trends or currents circulating in your environment. Some of these may be too radical so hold off on a final decision till mid March when new perceptions and current values have had a chance to percolate.

PISCES
A Venus/Neptune opposition on the 9th opens the way for romantic feelings but as with all things Neptunian care needs to be taken as we can be easily influenced. This is particularly so as Mercury’s grasp of the situation is more imaginative than pragmatic tending towards faulty judgement. All is not doom and gloom, as this can be an extremely creative time particularly as Mercury and Venus are in and out of Leo during the month.

ARIES
When the energy of Mars is aligned with the Sun much can be accomplished particularly if you have a plan of attack. Do not try to rush things through though as from midmonth the action planet teams up with a few of the slower moving planets that are not at all keen on reckless behaviour. Events will keep you on your toes needing decisive action and a clear head.

TAURUS
The feel good extravagance of Leo is curtailed as Venus moves into the more prudent Virgo. This sign is known for its more practical rather than flighty considerations and when aligned with Pluto for a
mid-month meeting the desire to solve any problematic relationship issues may manifest. This pairing allows you to cut to the chase getting to the heart of the difficulty rather than skim the surface.

GEMINI
Mercury moves from the self-protective Cancer into the more
self-confident sign of Leo so you may be brimming with ideas from the 10th. This fiery sign loves the limelight and has no problems putting a point of view across whether that be in a bar or boardroom. The end of the month sees a link with the nebulous Neptune so make sure you are aware of all the facts before shooting your mouth off.

COSMOS

Changes in planetary sign and movement this month include:

SUN - moves from the security conscious sign of Cancer on the 23rd into his home base of Leo, so any ventures that require self-confidence and an element of risk can be held off till then.

MERCURY – moves into the self-assured sign of Leo on the 10th when visions become bolder and more creative. Ingresses into Virgo on the morning of the 28th so anything that requires attention to detail or fine-tuning can be held over till then.

VENUS – enters Virgo on the evening of the 10th and the hedonistic lifestyle of eating and drinking comes to a stop as concerns of diet and exercise become more relevant.

MARS – enters its sign of detriment in Libra on the 30th. The feisty warrior has his activities curtailed in Libra due to the peace loving nature of this sign. Instead of going it alone team up with someone else who can share the experience.

SATURN – ingresses into its sign of exaltation Libra in the early hours of the 22nd where it stays until October 2012. This two and a half year stay in the sign of equality and fair dealing draws attention to the need to resolve our differences as well as giving a strong sense of duty.

JUPITER – begins its once-a-year retrograde movement late on the 23rd giving us four months to fix any loose ends before powering ahead. This is a great time to reconsider ideals that may have been overlooked or under appreciated.

URANUS – turns retrograde in the early hours of the 5th and remains that way until 6 December. Even the best laid plans can go astray due to unforeseen new conditions but with the intuitive impulses turned inwards we may be better able to grasp what is needed.

NEW MOON at 19 CANCER 24 on 12 JULY 2010 at 5:40am AEST

The effects of this New Moon are intensified as a total Solar Eclipse also occurs. Eclipse gives its name to the Ecliptic, the path of the earth around the Sun, or the apparent path of the Sun around the Earth. Eclipses have long inspired human curiosity and inspired scientific study. A Solar Eclipse involves the close alignment of the Royal Pair – Moon and Sun representing astrologically an integration of the unconscious with the conscious. The power of the nurturing sign of Cancer is intensified with sensitivity and feelings amplified and the ability to integrate and acknowledge the importance of emotions in our lives.

This New Moon/Solar Eclipse receives help and encouragement from the warrior planet Mars increasing self-confidence and vitality that will enable us to meet any physical demands if required. Mars in the more patient sign of Virgo gives endurance and the ability to work methodically as well as the ability to adapt.

This adaptation will be necessary if we are to tune into the potential of this New Moon/Eclipse as the predominate aspect is the 150-degree inconjunct. For positive growth to occur there is the need to deal with Pluto who challenges us to listen to others and to be more flexible and empathic in views and agendas. With the involvement of Venus, those of us who find it easier to give love may need to look at why it is there is an attraction to those who withhold love and learn to better assess own attractiveness and desirability. Uranus shooting off bolts of lightning to the Goddess says to hell with social acceptance and appearance if it goes against the grain of inner self.

The Jupiter/Uranus pairing in Aries is off and running but with steady old Saturn in the last degree of Virgo clinging to their coat tails we are reminded of the need for care and attention to detail.

Fear and doubts are a product of Neptune and Saturn so begin now to start nurturing a new beginning, one that takes into account an awareness of your needs and feelings: a need for intimacy/independence or financial security, a need to belong or be accepted for yourself.

What is it you need to encourage positive growth?

FULL MOON at 3 degrees AQUARIUS on 26 July at 11:36am AEST

Aquarius is the last of the four powerful, magnetic, and opinionated fixed signs and symbolically is said to be the ideal man. The perfected being, liberated from time and space so as to fly between Heaven and Earth. Just as the Full Moon illuminates the night sky so too is the moment to wake up and be alert to the shifting changing sands of time.

A number of factors highlight the potential of this Full Moon particularly Saturn our time keeper moving back into Libra the sign of contact with others. This fifth and final opposition to Uranus, ruler of Aquarius challenges the old guard with new innovative ideas and approaches.

Tension mounts as Pluto (regeneration) squares off to these two planets forming the apex of a Cardinal T Square. This means that all is filtered through the transformative powers of this dwarf planet. Where once we may have been overwhelmed or overcome by the hurdles and obstacles that litter the path of needed change we now can draw on that inner strength to confront and overcome all resistance. By consciously activating this hidden strength we are able to work through the fear tapping into our power reserves.

Of course you may also continue with a chip on your shoulder bemoaning the fact that life/fate is against you, that no matter what you do circumstances/people don’t allow you to get ahead. Choice!

The integration of the Leo principles the polar opposite sign of this Full Moon, requires us to be more self directed becoming aware of the freedom that results from following our inner being. We need to consciously integrate the Aquarian ideals of tolerance, brotherhood and open-mindedness, which foster the ability to identify with all humanity. The assimilation of these two signs allows us to perceive universal truths but not in a sterile or abstract manner but from a more alive and humane level.

Uranus, God of chaos and change, gives us a glimpse into the future and whilst pairing with Jupiter our philosophy and view of the world is opened to new possibilities changing our perspective on life. The challenge throughout this time is to stay as grounded as possible while the earth moves beneath your feet.

Sabian Symbol

3 degrees Aquarius – A deserter from the Navy- the individual’s self-realisation through a crucial repudiation of a collective status, which has become unbearable.

3 degrees Leo – A middle-aged woman, her long hair flowing over her shoulders and in a braless youthful garment. The will to meet the challenge of age in terms of our modern society’s glorification of youth.
