Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 26 May

The Astrological Elements

GEMINI

With Sun, Venus and Mercury all in your sign life may seem a little chaotic at the moment but with Mercury now retrograde until Mid June don’t initiate any changes till after then.

CANCER

Venus planet of luuve, has moved behind the scenes into your solar 12th house indicating that the next 3-4 weeks may see your own desires put on the back burner as the needs of others take precedence.

LEO

Co-operation is the name of the game for our Lions as the next month sees the focus not on individual effort but with more being accomplished by motivating and encouraging team or group participation

VIRGO

Mercury, planet of communication and your ruler has turned retrograde for the next 3 weeks so continue to delay any plans you may have to move ahead. This does not mean give up only to review or revise.

LIBRA

Saturn challenges Venus this week and you may experience difficulty relating to others causing you to feel at times lonely and withdrawn. This won’t last for long so use the time for a bit of self-reflection and introspection.

SCORPIO

Your spirit and energy is high so put them to good work at the gym or any other physical exercise that suits your fancy. You are able to work well with others at the moment, which adds to your sense of well being.

SAGITTARIUS

Any criticism directed at you this week should be seen in a constructive light. Try not to distort, lose perspective or exaggerate the intent as a few well meaning and well chosen words can save you embarrassment.

CAPRICORN

Your relationship with work colleagues may cause you to stress out this week but try not to let this affect your attitude or behavior. Tension may be high and you will feel that it is all more trouble than it is worth.

AQUARIUS

Try not to scatter your energies over the next week or rush around trying to accomplish too much at once. Without forethought you may create a bit of confusion and appear to be quite tactless.

PISCES

With your ruler Neptune also turning retrograde for the next five months it becomes increasingly important for you develop the time and space for more spiritual explorations than you have in the past.

ARIES

Still on a mental and physical high it is important to keep yourself busy. Self discipline is at a particularly low ebb for doing those things that don’t really grab you so instead of making a half hearted effort, leave it till later.

TAURUS

Venus moving into your second house of finances and resources may see you needing to  tighten your belt  as she links up with Saturn the scrooge. Don’t be disheartened though for it is only for a few days.

THE ASTROLOGICAL ELEMENTS

EARTH: TAURUS, VIRGO, CAPRICORN

Gaia is the Earth, the Great Mother and through her creation comes into being.
The Earth is the basic structure on which we stand. It is the substance that gives life the structure that supplies our basic needs through development and growth, the term ‘Mother Earth’.

All are yin signs therefore the receptive, responsive part of our psyche. Essential stimulation comes from the inner world of thoughts and reflections. At the end of a long hard day prefer to unwind by going home for a bit of solitude.

Earth’s focus is grounded firmly in the present and what is tangible. It is the element of the physical world and the five physical senses of taste, touch, sight, smell and hearing

Astrological Earth corresponds to Jung’s Sensation Type which sees them taking in information through the five senses. These people deal with known facts, looking at specific parts and pieces. Whereas Fire is comfortable with the abstract Earth likes the concrete. Very good at precise work they tend to leave the more creative designs to the Fire signs.

Earth’s gifts are its practicality and reliability as well as the ability to relax, slow down and smell the roses. The shadow side is becoming too earthbound which dampens both the enthusiasm for growth and spontaneity.
