Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 23 February

New moon at 6 degrees Pisces 35 on Wednesday 25 February

PISCES

The New Moon in Pisces is particularly potent for all those born under the sign of the Fish. Attuned as you are to cosmic energies use the stimulus of this time as a guide to attaining what is personally meaningful.

ARIES

Your deeds and actions make you highly popular this week, as self-interest seems to be a low priority. You will reap the benefits of any time and effort put in now as long as you are not wasteful with it.

TAURUS

A great deal of satisfaction is gained by involving yourself in charitable activities. This could be as simple as the donation of clothing or the physical involvement of door knocking for the Red Cross.

GEMINI

A flash of insight (or if modesty is not an issue, sheer genius) allows you to perceive the way out of a problem that has been holding you back. As the picture becomes clearer so do the advantages.

CANCER

Hopefully the New Moon in your solar ninth house has you seeking out new experiences that cause you to broaden your horizons. Don’t mull over what could have been but look to see what can be.

LEO

Leos aren’t necessarily hoarders like the previous sign but a lot of garbage has been accumulating around and under the house. Get rid of it, you will be amazed at how good this makes you feel. Gain brownie points as well.

VIRGO

If constant bickering has you on edge take time out for a bit of self-reflection. Life can become extremely chaotic and overwhelming if too much time and attention is given to insignificant details.

LIBRA

When Venus teams up with Jupiter we tend to see happiness in love so if a love affair has been going strong the inclination may be to look at your future happiness with thoughts turning to engagements.

SCORPIO

Being true to self can sometimes be an issue for those Scorpions who fear the deep emotions that reside within them. Inner peace and happiness can only come with self-acceptance and love.

SAGITTARIUS

If moral and/or ethical issues come to the fore this week have faith in yourself and your abilities to do the right thing. Although it is not sought your popularity increases as you take the moral high ground.

CAPRICORN

It is sometimes hard for this earth sign to look past the borders of reason so this New Moon may ask for trust instead of fear of the unknown. There is no material or mental certitude only faith in the self.

AQUARIUS

An exchange of ideas stimulates the thought processes and may see you off and running in a new direction. Your enthusiasm attracts others and plans suddenly become a joint affair.

NEW MOON at 6 degrees Pisces 35 on Wednesday 25 February 2009

Of the four elements Water is perhaps the hardest to get a handle on and in Pisces we see an increase in empathy and receptivity to others.

Our last New Moon in Aquarius, an Air sign, is associated with thinking, logic and reasoning whereas in Water the concern is a more personal, inwards kind of truth.

In evolutionary terms, in Pisces we see an end as it is the twelfth sign of the zodiac but it is also a beginning as the zodiac is not a circle, but a helix, so that each time we go around we also move up.

Ego boundaries dissolve in Pisces to begin the most difficult stage of human evolution therefore this New Moon can provide the opportunity to put us in touch with that in ourselves that needs transcending.

SABIAN Symbol for 7 degrees Pisces Illuminated by a shaft of light, a large cross lies on rocks surrounded by sea mist.  The spiritual blessing, which strengthens individuals who, happen what may, stand uncompromisingly for their own truth.  Dane Rudhyar
