Your Travel

New holiday idea is catching on

Before two becomes three …

Babymoon . . . the latest thing in niche-market holidays

FIRST came the honeymoon … now it's the babymoon, a holiday concept popular overseas and which is now in big demand here.

Very basically, the idea is to provide expectant couples some quality, even romantic time together before the patter of little feet changes their lives and lifestyles forever. It's a good concept.

Behind the scheme is www.quickbeds.com  a relative newcomer on the Australian travel scene, and which, since its 2001 launch, has become a major accommodation sales player with over a quarter million clients a month.
For this one, they are in bed with (pardon that!) the five-star Lilianfels Resort and Spa in the Blue Mountains.

The babymoon package includes some mum-to-be treats like a baby-sized monogrammed bathrobe and a Crave No More menu featuring foods such as spicy laksa, peanut butter and banana sandwiches and pancakes with lots of maple syrup.

Calling all mums (and dads)-to-be: Lilianfels has long been a popular Blue Mountains escape for Sydneysiders

At Lilianfels the deal, priced from $399 a night, includes accommodation with breakfast, a pampering welcome gift featuring products from The Spa Macadamia range and that bathrobe.

There is also a 20 per cent discount on treatments at The Spa, late check-out and undercover parking.

Quickbeds.com general manager John Feenaghty says the package offers couples a perfect setting and services for total relaxation and pure indulgence before entering parenthood.

The European-style country house sits on two acres of rambling English-style garden and views are splendid.
